Biography

MARGIE OXFORD
1924-2011

Margie Lucille Trabue Oxford passed away on December 19, 2011 at the age of 87. Margie was born in Earlton, Kansas on March 28, 1924 to parents Roy and Juanita Trabue. Margie was raised in Kansas and Missouri along with her two brothers, Melvin Trabue (who predeceased her) and Billy (Dixie) Trabue of Newalla, Oklahoma. Margie met her future husband Fred and they married June 18, 1940. Margie and Fred's family became complete welcoming daughter Barbara and son Rick. In 1951, she and her husband moved to Napa where they continued to raise their family until Fred's death in September 1988. Margie was a member of the V.F.W. for many years and an active Avon representative up until the time of her death. (Margie was the longest active Avon representative in the State of California with over 50 years of service and proud of that accomplishment.) She enjoyed playing cards, taking short daily walks and spending time with her family. Margie's beloved dog Princess was always at her side and was always ready for a ride in any car taking Margie to whatever destination.

Margie was predeceased by her husband Fred. She is survived by her daughter Barbara (John) Patrick and son Rick (Karen) Oxford; Grandchildren David (Stacie) Patrick, Danny Patrick, Kelly (Arthur) Reyes and Ryan Musante all of Napa; Great-grandchildren Jenasse Patrick-Van Fleet, Davynn and Savanna Patrick and Isabella Reyes. The family would like to give special thanks to Eleanor (Ella) Martin who was a great friend helping Margie prolong her enjoyment of independence and as time passed transitioned to caregiver. Ella has the biggest heart and was the family's angel for Margie. The family would also like to thank Napa Valley Care Center for the care of our mother in her final weeks and to Kathy Tucker and Peggy Smith, her nurses from Kaiser Hospice Vallejo.

A service to honor her life will be held in the Tulocay Chapel on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Dr. Vallejo, Ca. 94589. Memories and words of sympathy may be sent to the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
