JULI MARIE SHELDON MCQUEENEY HAZEN
1956-2011

Juli Hazen, 55, passed away December 10, 2011. She was born in San Francisco on October 9, 1956 to Roger and Delores Sheldon. She moved to Napa in the mid 70's and worked for 5 years in the County Planning Department. She then taught art for 13 years at St. John the Baptist Catholic School.

Juli was a very talented photographer who specialized in black and whites. She loved to spend time at Lake Berryessa and Disneyland. Her greatest joy in life was her relationship with her daughter, Noel. She had a big heart and was always ready to help others. She will be missed greatly by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Hazen, Napa; daughter, Noel McQueeney, Napa; mother, Dolores Sheldon, Napa; brother, Christopher Sheldon, San Francisco; aunt, Rogene Frailey, Woodside, CA. and many cousins.

A service to honor her life will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 11am in the Tulocay Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Association. I’m deeply sorry to here of Juli’s passing she was good friend for the short time I knew her. Juli was hard working photographer who got the best out children something I could never do I hope some of her talent wore off on me. I had a fun times helping Juli at here studio in Yountville and later at her and Mike’s home. I’m very sad I did not get to see Juli in the last few years. I talked to her this spring she was looking forward to photographing a baby Juli sounded so happy to be photographing again. I’ll miss Juli smile and eternal happiness. Yours Truly John Proteau

My heart goes out to you, Noel,Dodie and Chris. I have great memories of Juli. She had such a brave and optimistic spirit. I remember singing along with the radio in the car with her, what a great mom she was, and how she danced up a storm at Bob's and my wedding just a few weeks after having a kidney transplant. Dear Dodi and Christopher, It has been a long time since we all saw one another. Our daughter will soon be 30 and Ross and I have been married 40 yrs. But hearing the sad news about Juli just blew us away. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all. We will miss Juli so much. From all the good times at Lake Berryessa, the birth of Noel, her photography and just being a kind soul to everyone. Always had a smile on her face even though she was hurting inside. She will never be forgotten as she was always trying to help others when she was the one who was in need. May the Lord let her rest and lift her up to Heaven. She is now watching over us. I'm truly sorry for her passing so young. Whenever I saw Juli she seemed happy and full of life, in spite of all her health problems. She faced adversity with a very brave spirit and I admired her for that.

I will miss Julie and her sweet smile she was a happy soul, positve and very loving. Julie and I would lose touch then one day run in to eachother and pick right up where we left off. I will hold on to my special memories until one day when I see her again. I love you Julie God Bless you.
