He was a hard working man who spent 19 years at Basalt and also worked at various other jobs. When he wasn't working, he liked to take care of his roses, spend time with his grandchildren and walk around the neighborhood. His strength of character and warm smile will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Luis is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evangelina; daughters, Eva (Luis) Zavala, Napa, and Gloria (Cesar) Lopez, Napa; sons, Jose Hernandez, Napa and Ed (Lisa Adametz) Hernandez, Pleasant Hill, grandchildren, Christian Zavala, Marco Zavala, Alexa Lopez, Mikayla Lopez and Cassandra Lopez; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral Mass will be said on Friday, July 30 at 11:00am at St. Apollinaris Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Thursday July 29 from 12-8:00 with the Rosary at 6:00pm in the chapel of Tulocay Funeral Home.
