Biography

MELINDA SUE SMALL
1949-2010

Sue departed this life on July 3, 2010 and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Called Sue by most and Melinda by others, she answered cheerfully to either. Born September 6, 1949 in Seattle, Washington, Sue and her family moved to Napa at a young age and she considered Napa her home.

Sue was a very giving person and relished her time working with disabled clients at both Napa and Sonoma state hospitals. She enjoyed crocheting, scrap booking, photography and being with friends. Many good years and good friends were enjoyed with the Napa Valley Jeepers. Sue is a member of the Sparkling Red Hatters of Napa, the Single Action Shooting Society (where she is known as Sue K. Yaqui) and the National Rifle Association.

Sue married her husband, Phil, in 1970 and they had a good 40 years together. She was predeceased by her young brother, Greg. She is survived by her husband, Phil Small, Napa; mother, Patricia Soen, Napa, father Chris (Dale) Miller, Sonoma, brother, Chris (Cheryle) Miller, Santa Rosa; nephew, Paul (Inna & Alexander), nephew, Jeff (Kelli, Jack & Sophia) Miller, niece, Allison (Sean) Prysock, nephew, Ryan (Jamie) Stern, and niece, Jessica (Marty) Trumbore.

A Celebration of Sue's life will be held on Saturday July 31 at 11am in the chapel of Tulocay Funeral Home. Contributions to the Queen of the Valley Foundation in Sue's memory would be appreciated. Memories and words of sympathy may be sent to the family on-line at WWW.TULOCAYCEMETERY.ORG.
