JAMES W. DENNA
1920-2010

James W. Denna, 89, passed away on February 4, 2010. He was born in Westville Oklahoma on October 5, 1920 to Gus and Pearl Denna. His family moved to California when he was 3 and he graduated from Lassen High School in Susanville, CA. in 1940.

James married Lorene on December 30, 1950. James worked as a for 20 years and then became a postal clerk for 20 years. He and Lorene raised two boys, Jim and Dave and they all loved camping together. James was a big football fan, but he really enjoyed to travel. He and Lorene visited every state except for Alaska, and traveled to 9 countries in Europe and throughout Canada. He was always up for an adventure. However, his greatest passion was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was affectionately known as "Grandpa Hook"! His love and wisdom will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lorene, sons, Jim (Ruth) Denna, Paradise and Dave (Pat) Denna, Napa.

A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Monday February 8, 2010 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Tulocay Funeral Home. A committal service will be followed by a reception in the Tulocay Reception Hall. Words of sympathy may be sent to the family on-line at WWW.TULOCAYCEMETERY.ORG.

What a Great loss to us and a Greater gain to Heaven! We will miss Grandpa so much! I can't remember him ever being down. He was encouraging, funny and happy. Thank you, Grandma, for sharing him with us. See you up there, Grandpa!

We were so sorry to hear about Mr. Denna's passing. He was our neighbor for the past 13 years and he was always pleasant and cheerful! We'll miss his hellos. If we can do anything, for Mrs. Denna, please let us know.
